Krokofant

The powerhouse trio «Krokofant» has been reinforced with two outstanding guest artists. Krokofant is originally a trio that has released three hard-hitting albums in the freer part of the jazz segment. But now Krokofant is back with two prominent guests. Ståle Storløkken and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, known from a wide range of very different contexts, for example Storløkken in Elephant9, Supersilent and Håker Flaten in Atomic.

Ever since this expanded version of Krokofant released their first album “Q” two years ago, there has been a unanimous demand that this should be done again. As said, so done, and with “Fifth” they deliver, if possible, an even finer album.

This lineup is perhaps the one with the most “prog” in it in the rich flora of the country’s progressive jazz rock bands.

Fans of King Crimson, Mahavishnu Orchestra as well as John Coltrane will greatly appreciate this collaboration.

Krokofant shows a rare melodic flair and conjures up one catchy phrase after another, combined with lengthy improvisations, which will satisfy the jazz hats of the toughest hard rockers.
